About Dorothy
I am a Grade 11 learner who enjoys helping others understand Afrikaans and feel more confident with the language. I am patient, friendly and willing to explain things in different ways if a learner does not understand something the first time. I can help learners with reading, vocabulary, grammar, homework and general Afrikaans practice. I am comfortable teaching in either Afrikaans or English, depending on what the learner understands best. My goal is to create a comfortable environment where learners can ask questions, learn at their own pace and improve their Afrikaans skills. I take my lessons seriously and aim to be reliable, prepared and respectful with every learner.

My lessons are friendly, patient and focused on helping younger learners understand Afrikaans in a simple and comfortable way. I offer help with Afrikaans basics, reading, vocabulary, grammar and homework. I adjust my lessons to suit each learner’s level and explain things step by step. Students can expect a relaxed learning environment where they can ask questions and take their time to understand the work. My lessons are mainly aimed at younger and beginner-level learners to grade 10 learners who need extra support with Afrikaans. Languages of instruction are in English and Afrikaans.
