About Hunar
Hi! I'm a sixth-form student and enthusiastic History tutor who recently completed my GCSEs, achieving a Grade 9 in GCSE History.
One of the reasons I enjoy tutoring History is because I know first-hand that a student's grade does not necessarily reflect their potential. Earlier in my GCSEs, I was working at around a Grade 6 in History. Through improving my revision techniques, strengthening my understanding of the content and, most importantly, learning how to structure and develop my exam answers, I was able to progress to a Grade 9 by the end of the course.
This experience has shaped the way I tutor. I understand how frustrating it can be to know the content but struggle to turn that knowledge into marks, or to feel overwhelmed by the amount of information that needs to be remembered. I can help students identify where they are losing marks and work with them to develop practical strategies for improving.
I offer History tutoring for students aged 12–16, including KS3 and GCSE students. I can support students with learning and revising content, understanding causes and consequences, making connections between events, analysing sources and interpretations, developing essay answers and improving exam technique.
My lessons are friendly, supportive and tailored to each student's needs. I want students to become more confident and independent rather than simply memorising model answers. Having gone through the process of improving my own History grade, I can share techniques that I found genuinely useful and help students find approaches that work for them.
Alongside my Grade 9 in History, I achieved Grade 9s in English Language and English Literature and Grade 8s in Maths and Business. I am now starting sixth form and have deliberately kept my tutoring availability limited so that I can give each student proper attention and prepare effectively for their lessons.
I hold a current Basic DBS certificate and take the safety and wellbeing of my students seriously.

My History lessons are friendly, structured and tailored to each student's individual needs. Having recently completed my GCSEs and achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE History, I understand the demands of the subject and the importance of both strong subject knowledge and effective exam technique.
I aim to make History easier to understand by breaking complex topics into manageable sections and helping students make connections between events, people and historical developments. Rather than relying purely on memorisation, I encourage students to understand the causes, consequences and significance of events so that they can apply their knowledge confidently to different questions.
For GCSE students, lessons can include revising key content, practising exam-style questions, developing essay structure, analysing sources and interpretations, improving written answers and working on exam technique. I can also help students identify gaps in their knowledge and create effective revision strategies.
For KS3 students aged 12–13, lessons can focus on building a strong foundation of historical knowledge, understanding current school topics, developing written responses and becoming more confident with historical vocabulary and concepts.
Lessons will typically last 1 hour and will be adapted according to the student's ability, schoolwork and goals. A typical lesson may involve reviewing previous learning, introducing or explaining a topic, completing guided practice and finishing with exam-style questions or a short recap to reinforce what has been covered.
My lessons are aimed at students aged 12–15 studying KS3 or GCSE History. I currently have limited tutoring availability alongside my sixth-form studies, allowing me to prepare thoroughly for each lesson and provide each student with consistent individual support.
