About Lamar
My name is Lamar, and I approach tutoring with a strong sense of professionalism and responsibility. I’ve had the opportunity to work as a translator for humanitarian platforms like Tarjimly, where I assist Arabic- and English-speaking refugees in real-time. This experience has sharpened my communication skills and deepened my understanding of language beyond the classroom. I’ve also taught English to students from different backgrounds, including one-on-one sessions with a Ukrainian learner, and volunteered in educational settings to support English language development. These roles have helped me develop a thoughtful, adaptable teaching style focused on each student’s unique needs. I take every session seriously — showing up prepared, listening closely, and creating a respectful space where students feel supported and confident. Hi! I’m a bilingual English tutor with a 750 in the SAT English section, and I specialize in helping students become confident, fluent English speakers — whether they’re preparing for school exams, improving conversation skills, or starting from the basics.
I’ve worked as a volunteer teacher and successfully taught a Ukrainian student English from scratch, guiding them through vocabulary, speaking, reading, and real-life conversation practice.
