I'm a high school history/social studies teacher who specializes in helping students succeed in challenging courses, build confidence in their skills, make connections between content and the real world, and have fun while learning! I focus on building critical and historical thinking skills, essay writing (social studies, English, and college essays), document analysis and content mastery so students feel prepared for tests, essays, and exams.

I'm a high school Social Studies teacher with years of experience in both on-level and Advanced Placement coursework. My tutoring focuses on the skills students need most in social studies and beyond, document analysis, building strong arguments, using evidence, and writing clear, organized essays. I can help students with writing across curricula - helping with English or college entrance essays in addition to LEQ, DBQ, or SAQ for social studies exams.
In our sessions, we will focus on the specific struggles or challenges a student is facing, test preparation, essay writing or strategies for studying. I break complex tasks into smaller steps and help students with practical strategies they can use right away. Because I teach these skills every day in the classroom, I know where students tend to get stuck and what teachers and AP exam graders are looking for.
As a teacher and a mom, I also understand how stressful challenging classes can feel for parents and students and I aim to create a supportive, fun environment where students can build confidence and skills.
