About Silke
I have regularly tutored GCSE and A-level students to achieve A/A* (now 9/8/7) in exams and support them in all aspects of learning, speaking and enjoying the language. I have a degree in European Business Management in German, English, French and Spanish, have translated and edited many business, engineering and technology documents and enjoy supporting adults individually or as groups, face-to-face or online to learn, improve or perfect their German.

I am a firm believer in listening to and understanding what each student's/adult's biggest challenge is and what they want to achieve. This forms the core of what and how I approach each session. Learning styles are different for each person and I use a mix of written, recorded and visual content to make learning interesting. In order to improve and be able to become fluent in any language a basic understanding of grammar is necessary which I start mixing into lessons as and when appropriate. As a mother tongue speaker I love using lots of examples, telling stories and giving real life scenarios to give a flavour of the true German culture. For face-to-face sessions there's also usually some German food involved.
My motto is 'Make it interesting, let's have fun and success will come'.

£30/hr - GCSE, social and business tuition
£30/hr - A-level tuition
£10 travel expenses for journeys within 15 mile radius
Lessons cancelled less than 12 hours before their start time will be subject to a charge of 50% of the lesson cost. If there are extenuating circumstances surrounding the lesson cancellation then a full refund may be appropriate at my discretion.
