About Matthew
After getting a GCSE and A-level in German I moved to Munich, Germany and lived there for 4 years. There I became near fluent, insisting that others only speak to me in German so I could get better quicker. I've always had a passion for teaching and love sharing the knowledge I've acquired over the years with others. In 2021 I moved back to my hometown Worcester, England where I started working for my local church in St Peters. At the church I oversee the young adults ministry and the worship, which means I'm constantly surrounded by people and have the opportunity to teach and walk alongside others regularly. My job at the church is only part time, so I'm looking to get a couple more lessons alongside the few I have already. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

For the past 7 years I have been teaching music to over 30 different students of ages ranging from 4 to 70. Whilst living in Germany I also taught a few friends German to help them whilst they lived there. These lessons spanned from the very basics to preparing for exams. Now I'm living back in the UK I'm hoping to share some of my German knowledge that I picked up with those struggling at school and preparing for tests. I can also help German speakers in improving their English after moving to the UK. Over the years I've learnt to make lessons fun yet informative, catering to the needs of the student rather than just teaching what I want to teach. Generally I teach 1 hour lessons but can also teach 30 minutes. I continued teaching online over Covid lockdowns and have become well accustomed to doing so, still retaining a student in Germany.

Perfect! I was looking for a very informal opportunity for my 6 year old to keep hearing German while we were in the UK visiting family. Matt was super helpful, putting thought and materials preparation into each session. He was also a really positive, engaging person and I appreciated that he made a success of working with a tricky preschooler!

Matt has been an amazing guitar teacher, he's always flexible and adapted to my needs lesson by lesson. Whether I wanted a more theoretical or practical approach to the instrument, he was always ready with an amazing lesson that left me inspired to practice more.
