Have an MSc and B.A. (Hons) in Geography, Sociology & Philosophy. I specialise in teaching the AQA and Edexcel syllabi. Am currently an Edexcel examinations marker and as someone who physically marks the actual papers, I believe I have a very good understanding of what constitutes an excellent answer and more importantly, how to help my pupil achieve that. Before we proceed, please feel free to check out my feedback from previous parents/students on the First Tutor website as whilst I am new to superprof, I am certainly not new to tutoring in Geography or Sociology! :)
There are many approaches to tackling essay questions for example and I can help you with the structure which I think helps provide the most succinct and comprehensive answer. I will help you increase not just your knowledge base but also ensure you have all the needed examination skills in terms of time management and essay writing to help you go for gold so don't be surprised when this gets reflected in your grades! If you are willing to work I will support you every step of the way so as to greatly boost your chances of getting into a good Uni!
Happy to also help with NEA/coursework as that seems to be a concern for many but I promise you coursework can be a really fun component of your course if you give yourself the chance to enjoy doing it! I offer both online and face-to-face lessons and am based about a 7-minute walk from Arnos Grove tube station or New Southgate train station in North London.
Very happy to also help students prepare for University interviews as I regularly chair interview panels. Costs may differ from my hourly rate so please feel free to get in touch and discuss your requirements.

I have been tutoring for 30 years and have not managed to stop as helping you excel and love Geography & Sociology as much as I do is what I'm all about!
Tutoring Approach
As a parent myself, I can fully appreciate the anxiety some parents must feel in the run-up to the exams so I will keep you in the loop regularly as to your child's progress. I do this by assessing in which area the student needs help most and then take it from there. We will then progress to cover ALL your concerns before your exam so be prepared for some intense lessons! I can be as hands-on or hands-off in terms of guidance and will work with my students to ensure that they feel supported and confident by the time the exams come around. I will help students with not just content but also exam technique and how best to prepare for the upcoming exams from now right up to the day itself. Needless to say doing practice questions on a regular basis will certainly be part of this agenda.
Remember, nothing is to be feared - it is only to be understood and once we work to help you increase your understanding; everything will then fall into place.
