About Angus
I am an enthusiastic, bubbly and outgoing person. I have played organised and representative sport since I was 8 and I particularly enjoy football and cricket. These passions have fed into my love of politics and economics which led to my application to Durham for Human Geography. If you choose me as your tutor, you'll not only find a lot of clarity in the subjects you are studying, but you will also gain enthusiasm and a natural interest in it.

I am typically an engaging and enthusiastic character, and I take this into my lessons. I combine the structure of preparing for exams with finding ways to keep kids enthused and interested. I gained 10 GCSEs, 5 with a grade 9, 4 with a grade 8 and one A*. I also achieved 3 A*s at A-Level in Economics, Geography and Politics, with an A in Maths. I have been tutoring Economics, Geography, Maths and Politics for almost two years. I can tutor all these subjects to an A-Level standard, other than Maths which I teach to a GCSE standard. I will typically use exam board-issued syllabuses or individual school-issued syllabuses as a starting point and plan lessons around this. Depending on the tutee's level of understanding and the subject I am tutoring, I will either set questions and do them alongside the tutee, or I will set them before the lesson and go through them face-to-face. With essay-based subjects, I tend to find that developing essay plans is the most effective form of tutoring. This will allow us to cover many potential essays over the time and will help highlight how the subject fits together.

Gus tutored me for a few weeks before my A-level examinations.it. Gus helped me a lot as we went through concepts that I didn’t fully grasp. Once we had done that we went went through lots of past paper questions, which really helped me to understand how to get all the marks in the longer essays.
