About Elissia
My name is Elissia, I’m currently studying English Literature at degree level and have a passion and love for teaching. No matter a students current ability I believe that everyone has the capabilities to succeed in education, it just takes someone to motivate them.
I feel that it’s often hard for parents to academically motivate their children, and teachers are often more occupied with negative behaviour than progression, so it’s important to have someone act as both that teacher and motivator.
All a child needs to do well in English at GCSE is confidence, determination, and care, and those are all skills that are gained throughout life and , hopefully, throughout our sessions together.

I think that the best way to learn is through consistent, compassionate, and tailored 1-1 experiences. In my previous tutoring experience I found that the best way to adjust lesson plans to the individual was to ask them about their experiences in English lessons, as well as see how they address answering mock exam questions.
I work best at turning English GCSE level in years 10 and 11, and feel that I can help a motivated student make progress in a short period of time due to my tailored approach.
I know that sometimes a pass is all you need, and for those who struggle with English that pass means so much. So if you’re currently getting 7’s and want to boost yourself to a 9, or just want that pass, I would love to help you achieve your goal! :)
