About Sienna
With a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Guitar Studies and more than 3 years of teaching, I’ve developed a method that helps students truly hear the music they play. I focus on ear training, transcribing, and tonal awareness for guitarists. My lessons show students how to recognize intervals, chords, and progressions without relying on notation. We use famous solos, simple melodies, and improvised exercises to sharpen the ear. I believe that learning to listen transforms how you approach the instrument. My goal is to help every student play what they hear—and hear what they play. I provide consistent feedback and guidance for developing pitch accuracy. Over time, my students gain confidence in identifying key signatures, progressions, and harmonies. I enjoy teaching both advanced teens and creative learners who want to think musically. My teaching environment is relaxed but challenging. Each class builds awareness and creativity side by side. When your ear leads your hands, the guitar becomes an extension of your imagination.

My teaching approach helps guitarists master the essential skill of reading music. I teach standard notation and tablature side by side so students understand both systems. Sight-reading and rhythm exercises are part of every session. We start simple and build toward fluent, expressive reading. I focus on clear fingerboard visualization and note recognition. The Classical Purist learns how to connect notation to refined, dynamic playing. The Jazz Explorer develops rhythmic precision and chord interpretation through reading. I use real repertoire to keep lessons musical and relevant. Students gain both technical and interpretive insight from reading. My teaching style is friendly, patient, and encouraging. I believe reading opens new creative worlds for guitarists. Every student leaves with stronger confidence and understanding. Together, we’ll make the page come alive with sound.
