About Joyce
Hi there! I’m Joyce, a friendly and enthusiastic elementary school teacher with 7 years of experience helping children build confidence in English reading, writing, and speaking.
I believe learning is most effective when it’s engaging, meaningful, and fun! My lessons incorporate games, stories, songs, creative activities, and plenty of encouragement to keep young learners motivated and excited to participate.
Whether your child needs a little extra support or is ready for a new challenge, I tailor my lessons to their level, interests, and learning goals. I’m here to support them every step of the way with patience, positivity, and a genuine love for teaching.

My Teaching Approach
My teaching approach is learner-centered and goal-oriented. I tailor each lesson to your child’s needs, English level, interests, learning style, and goals.
I want students to feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and trying new things. My lessons are warm, patient, and encouraging, while still giving students the structure and guidance they need to make steady progress.
I also use a variety of materials and activities—including stories, songs, games, visuals, reading passages, and custom exercises—to make English practice meaningful and engaging.
Key Techniques I Use
1. Communicative Learning
I encourage students to use English in meaningful conversations and everyday situations, rather than simply memorizing vocabulary and grammar.
2. Task-Based Learning
Students practice English through fun, purposeful activities such as telling a story, describing a picture, creating a short dialogue, or completing a small project.
3. Step-by-Step Support
I break down challenging grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing skills into manageable steps, gradually helping students become more independent.
4. Encouraging Feedback
Mistakes are a natural part of learning! I correct students gently and clearly while celebrating their progress and encouraging them to keep trying.
5. Variety & Creativity
Depending on the student's age and interests, we might use songs, stories, videos, games, pictures, crafts, or other interactive activities to keep learning fresh and fun.
What Does a 1-Hour Lesson Look Like?
Every lesson is flexible and can be adjusted based on your child’s level, needs, and goals. A typical lesson might look like this:
5–10 mins | Warm-Up & Review
A short conversation, review of previous material, or a fun language game.
25–30 mins | Main Focus
Practice reading, writing, speaking, vocabulary, or grammar through stories, conversations, activities, and guided exercises.
10–15 mins | Practice & Application
Students use what they've learned through a short writing activity, storytelling, role-play, game, or other hands-on task.
5 mins | Feedback & Wrap-Up
Review what we learned, celebrate progress, answer questions, and set a small goal for the next lesson.
The exact balance can change depending on the student. Some lessons may focus more on reading and writing, while others may be centered around conversation and speaking practice.

Perfect! Joyce is an excellent teacher. she exactly knows how to teach small kids. Saanvi progressed very well in english and vocabulary while enjoying the class with her.
