About Shelby
Hi! I’m Shelby, a passionate and professional pianist with 23 years of performance experience and over a decade of teaching success. I hold a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance and Education, and I’ve helped students of all ages unlock their musical potential—whether they’re beginners or aspiring professionals.
Music has been my lifelong journey and joy. I’m proud to be the Champion Winner of the International Asian Music Competition, and even prouder of the smiles on my students’ faces when they discover what they’re capable of.
I believe piano lessons should be engaging, personalized, and joyful—not boring or stressful. Whether you’re preparing for exams, building confidence, or just playing for fun, I’ll guide you step by step with clear techniques, positive energy, and a deep love for music.

Every student is unique—and so is every lesson. My teaching combines strong classical foundations with creative, personalized strategies to help each student learn efficiently and with joy. Whether you're a complete beginner or an advanced player, I tailor every lesson to your pace, goals, and learning style.
Curricula are thoughtfully designed around each student’s individual interests, whether you're passionate about classical music, pop piano, accompaniment, or even composition, I will craft an approach that best supports your musical growth.
I emphasize clarity, motivation, and musical freedom, ensuring that students not only progress, but also develop a genuine love for music. Lessons may also include preparation for RCM exams, auditions, competitions, or simply the personal satisfaction of expressive playing.
Above all, I strive to create a positive, respectful, and encouraging learning environment, where students feel safe to explore, grow, and express their unique musical voice!
