About Richard
With extensive experience and a deep love for teaching, I guide students of all ages to develop their piano skills and musical understanding. I hold Master’s degrees in Music, which provide strong knowledge in theory, technique, and performance. I have taught beginners, intermediate learners, and advanced students preparing for exams, recitals, and competitions. My lessons are student-centred, tailored to each learner’s goals, pace, and abilities. I use real-life examples and case studies to make rhythm, melody, and harmony relatable and easy to understand. Motivation is central to my approach, and I encourage students to set goals, track progress, and celebrate achievements.
Problem-solving exercises are integrated to develop independent thinking and analytical skills. I maintain integrity, creating a safe, honest, and supportive environment where students feel confident to experiment. I am flexible, adjusting lessons according to each student’s learning style and objectives. Alongside piano, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and basic composition. I prepare students for exams, competitions, and performances while fostering creativity, discipline, and confidence. Lessons are offered online or in-person for learners of all ages. I focus on developing technical skills, expressive playing, and a lifelong appreciation for music. Each lesson is engaging, motivating, and productive. My ultimate goal is to nurture skilled, confident, and passionate musicians.

I focus on motivation, inspiring students to set goals and celebrate progress, which helps them develop confidence and consistency. Problem-solving is included in every lesson, allowing students to explore different solutions and learn independently. I teach with integrity, creating an honest, patient, and encouraging environment where mistakes are learning opportunities.
I am flexible, tailoring lessons to individual students’ goals, abilities, and learning preferences. I also teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and composition alongside piano. Lessons are online or in-person for children, teens, and adults. My goal is to help students play skilfully, express themselves creatively, and enjoy every step of their musical journey.
