About Zara
I am a dedicated violin tutor with 8 years of teaching and professional music experience, and I have always been deeply passionate about helping students grow through music. I teach violin to school and college students at all levels, from beginners exploring their first notes to advanced learners preparing for performances and exams.
One of the most rewarding milestones in my career has been guiding students who initially struggled with posture, technique, or confidence into skilled musicians capable of performing confidently in recitals, concerts, and competitions. My teaching approach focuses on building strong foundations, including posture, finger placement, bow control, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also nurturing musical expression and creativity. I integrate basic music theory and listening skills to help students understand the music they play, not just the mechanics.
I believe that every student is unique, so I adapt lessons to suit each learner’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel safe to experiment, make mistakes, and grow. Teaching violin is more than just instruction for me—it is an opportunity to inspire students, help them develop confidence, discipline, and focus, and foster a lifelong love for music.

I teach violin with a philosophy grounded in motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to cultivate skilled, expressive, and confident musicians. Lessons are tailored to each student’s abilities, interests, and goals, combining structured technical instruction with opportunities for creative exploration and artistic expression.
Motivation is central. I encourage students to set goals, track their progress, and celebrate milestones, fostering confidence, commitment, and enthusiasm. Communication ensures a collaborative and supportive learning environment, where questions, challenges, and ideas are openly welcomed and addressed.
Creativity is woven into every lesson through improvisation, personal interpretation, and composition, helping students develop a unique artistic voice. Integrity emphasises discipline, responsibility, and respect for music, creating habits that support long-term growth.
In addition to violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and basic piano, providing a holistic musical education. This methodology ensures students grow technically, creatively, and emotionally, developing confidence, artistic expression, and a lifelong love for music.
