About Mingjie
I am a native Chinese speaker born and raised in China, currently living in the UK. I moved to the UK in 2022 and completed my Master’s degree here.
I am fluent in English and experienced in teaching students from different backgrounds, ages and levels. My teaching style is relaxed, friendly and highly practical — I focus on helping students actually use Chinese with confidence.
I believe language learning should be enjoyable and stress-free. I always tailor my lessons to each student’s goals, pace and interests, whether you are a complete beginner or already have some foundation.
I mainly teach online for flexibility and convenience, and I also offer in-person lessons in Southampton.

Perfect! Mingjie is an excellent teacher, he has helped me learn so much, so quickly. Mingjie is patient and takes his time to make sure you understand fully before moving on. I always feel energised after our lessons as I learn so much and come away with such a sense of pride, all thanks to Mingjie's teaching style.
I highly recommend learning Chinese with Mingjie. He has a very relaxed nature and will help you learn Chinese in a fun way, so you always come away from your lesson feeling good!- Charlotte is a very good person and a very good student. She has a very good personality and is approachable, and I felt it from the first class we had. Every time we have class, we are very happy. It always feels like chatting between friends, and time flies by very quickly. When it comes to learning Chinese, I feel like she has a talent for learning languages. She learned very quickly, quickly mastered standard Chinese pronunciation and could quickly memorize many Chinese words and phrases. In addition, Charlotte is indeed a very hard-working student. Mingjie is a very humorous and excellent teacher. He will develop suitable courses for each person based on their needs for Chinese proficiency; his Chinese classes are very interesting and accompanied by his humorous teaching. I think anyone who is interested in Chinese can try his course.
Mingjie and I are good friends. I am a native English speaker and we met in the UK. He often taught me some daily Chinese expressions when we were chatting, and I accumulated a lot of Chinese vocabulary. I can already use Chinese to have basic conversations with people. I strongly recommend finding him to learn Chinese, because he will teach you Chinese in a very relaxed and humorous way, and you will not feel tired of learning at all, but more interesting.
Wang Mingjie is approachable and funny, and he patiently teaches every student. In addition, he is culturally sound and has a sufficient knowledge base to help him teach each and every student.
