About Katie
I am an Honors Sociology graduate with a minor in Crime, Law, and Justice Studies, as well as a Certificate in Criminology and Addictions. Alongside my education, I have hands-on experience working as a Youth Care Worker and Educational Assistant (EA), where I support individuals with diverse learning needs.
These roles have strengthened my communication, patience, and ability to create a safe, supportive learning environment. I take a professional, reliable approach to my work and always aim to build strong, respectful relationships with my students.
I am committed to helping each student feel comfortable, capable, and confident in their English skills, while providing lessons that are both engaging and effective.

My approach is supportive, flexible, and focused on building confidence. I create a comfortable, non-judgmental space where students feel safe to practice and improve.
My teaching is practical and conversation-based, focusing on real-life English skills. Lessons are tailored to each student, typically including conversation, vocabulary, and targeted grammar support, while keeping sessions interactive and at a comfortable pace.
What sets me apart is my background in Sociology and my experience as a Youth Care Worker and Educational Assistant (EA). This has strengthened my communication skills, patience, and ability to support diverse learners. I work especially well with students who feel shy or lack confidence.
My lessons are best suited for beginner to intermediate learners, including youth and adults looking to improve everyday communication and confidence in English.
