About Pola
I am a forensic science graduate and due to begin my MRes degree in molecular toxicology. I have previously tutored GCSE students in maths, biology, chemistry, and physics. More recently, I have tutored level 4 university students on chemical formulas commonly used in the laboratory during experimental analysis. I have experience in teaching groups of approximately 10 students which always showed great engagement and results.

My teaching method is based on asking students questions on a given topic to firstly assess their level of understanding. If I see a student struggling with comprehension of the topic, I start off with the basics, for example, what is expected to be done for the question and what the question means. I have previously found that the most effective way to teach a student a particular formula, maths calculation, or chemistry definition is to give an example of where this might be used in a real-life situation/workplace. Once the student has the knowledge on reason for this task, it is easier for them to understand what is supposed to be done. I like to provide all learning materials including questions and notes which the students may need during class. I also like to point out that I am available for any questions the students may have so that they know they have the support they need.
