About Joy
Hi there! I'm Joy Gao, excited to help you achieve your academic and language goals! Born in China and raised in Texas since age 13, I've navigated and embraced bicultural identities, bringing unique perspectives to my teaching. With degrees in Finance (BBA) and Radio-TV-Film (BSc) from UT Austin, I combine analytical thinking with creative storytelling. I've founded a successful startup focusing on college consulting and TOEFL/SAT tutoring, helping students get into their dream schools. I love making tutoring sessions engaging and fun! Outside teaching, you'll find me making films, reviewing movies, cheering on sports teams, or skydiving for some extra adrenaline. Let's learn and grow together!
