About Merryn
Hi! I'm Merryn :)
I help GCSE and A-level students achieve the grades they need and deserve by providing them with the skills they need to feel confident in their exams.
When I was at school, I found lessons disengaging and didn't receive the support I needed. My grades were suffering. Determined to reach my potential, I worked hard after school and received a level 9 in both English Literature and English Language. This is why I am so passionate about helping students, because I believe it is always possible to transform your grades and succeed.
Aside from literature, I love films, fashion, philosophy and cooking!

My lessons are:
1. Led by your specific goals and learning style. The classroom isn't always tailored to your specific learning requirements. Therefore, I offer support that is personalised to your strengths/weaknesses which I will assess during our first meeting and review throughout our lessons.
2. Informed by expertise and current knowledge of exam boards. I took my grades from level 5 to level 9, achieved an A grade at A-level and recently graduated with a First-class degree from Lancaster University. I know what it takes to get the grades you desire. We will cover analysis skills, essay writing, grammar and vocabulary support.
3. Brought to you with enthusiasm and warmth. I am incredibly passionate about English Literature and enjoy helping students. I have worked in Libraries, as a Student Mentor and Youth Ambassador, providing me with the ability to engage young people in their education and empower them through learning.
