About Harlow
My passion for French began with fascination for its rhythm, elegance, and expressive possibilities. Over eight years of teaching, I’ve come to see language as a bridge—connecting people, cultures, and ideas. Sharing that connection with my students is what gives my work purpose. Teaching French allows me to combine linguistic precision with creativity, helping learners communicate meaningfully and confidently. My teaching style blends structure with warmth. I guide students through grammar, pronunciation, and conversation in ways that feel both practical and inspiring. Each lesson is an exchange of culture and curiosity, where mistakes are embraced as part of growth. I encourage students to enjoy the process of discovery and to see language learning as both intellectual and emotional. Outside of teaching, I read French literature, attend cultural events, and engage in online language communities to stay immersed in evolving expressions. Teaching French is not just a profession—it’s a lifelong exploration of connection and culture. Watching my students speak fluently, express ideas confidently, and fall in love with the language brings me profound satisfaction.

French lessons immerse students in the beauty of language and culture. I design sessions to build a balance between structure and expression—teaching grammar and pronunciation while exploring art, history, and conversation. Students learn to communicate naturally, gaining confidence through guided dialogue and interactive exercises. Each class cultivates curiosity and enjoyment, transforming French from an academic subject into a living experience.
Lessons adapt to student proficiency. Beginners learn greetings, pronunciation, and simple sentence structure, supported by vocabulary expansion and listening exercises. Intermediate learners work on conversation flow, writing, and comprehension through real-world materials—songs, films, and stories. Advanced students refine fluency, formal writing, and cultural nuance, often working with authentic texts and debates. Assignments focus on translation, oral presentations, and creative writing to strengthen understanding and expression.
The ultimate goal of French lessons is to create confident, culturally aware communicators. Students not only learn to speak but to think in French. They develop comfort using the language in everyday and professional contexts, gaining appreciation for French culture. Many discover that fluency opens opportunities for travel, study, and global connection, enriching both mind and perspective.
