About Anette
Bonjour! My name is Anette and I am an undergraduate student of French, Psychology and Philosophy at The University of St Andrews.
My qualifications for French include:
- GCSE grade 9 with distinction in speaking component
- A level grade A*
I studied in an international school in Hong Kong until the end of my GCSEs and I completed my A levels in a boarding school in Oxford, England. I am extremely passionate about fostering connections with people all around the world and I have met lots of wonderful people who I exchange cultural information with. Because of this, I was able to combine such curiosities with my interest in languages and continue to pursue French.
I have been passionate about the French language since I first started learning it in school when I was 10 years old. In 2019, I did a French exchange in Fontainebleau, France, and I still consider it to be the best week of my life! I am still in touch with Léna, my lovely French correspondent! My favourite thing about French and language learning in general is that it almost feels magical - you know you truly love it when you start to think in French and employing it soon becomes automatic and natural to you. I hope that I can make your experience like this as well!

I am a passionate language learner and I am dedicated to meeting your needs, whether it be exam practice, grammar, speaking skills or enhancing your command of the French language.
I am able to give lessons suited to individual needs as well, being neurodivergent myself. My lessons offer a patient, non-judgemental space which, speaking from personal experience, is very helpful with online tuition.
My goal is to make my students feel comfortable and confident with French :)
