About Amélie
I’m Amélie (like the movie), a native French speaker living in New York City with a profound passion for languages and culture. Fluent in German and actively learning Mandarin, I intimately understand the dedication and curiosity it takes to master a new language. With a Master’s degree from a French “Grande école” and two years of intensive philosophy and literature classes, during my time in the French “classes préparatoires”, I bring not only deep expertise but also a heartfelt appreciation for the beauty and complexity of the French language. My teaching approach is thoughtful and extremely personalized: I aim to guide learners to embrace the French language’s rhythm, nuance, and cultural richness. Together, we will refine your grammar, vocabulary, accent, and expression to unlock your authentic French voice.

Bonjour ! I’m a native French speaker from Upper Savoy, fluent in both French and English (as well as German), with a Master's degree and a background in philosophy and French literature. I now live in New York and offer private French lessons in the evenings and on weekends. My lessons are designed for intermediate to advanced learners who want to: - Refine their grammar and vocabulary - Improve pronunciation and accent - Build confidence in conversation - Deepen their understanding of French culture and expression - Explore literary or philosophical texts (optional but très chic) Whether you're preparing for a move, an exam, or just want to sound more natural, I’ll tailor each session to your needs and interests. I’m happy to work with professionals, students, or lifelong learners! In-person or hybrid lessons available. I teach in Manhattan (evenings only) and occasionally on weekends. À bientôt!!
