About Patrick
My students come from very diverse backgrounds from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America , the Middle East and the UK, and all have different needs and interests.
I have worked as a journalist for newspapers and news agencies covering a wide range of issues. Teaching, living and working in many countries where I did not initially speak the language, also taught me how important it is to be able to communicate.
I was lucky because I was brought up in England and France which gave me a taste for languages and different cultures. I also speak Portuguese and some Spanish.

I teach French at different levels from beginner to advanced as well as for specific professional purposes from business to politics.
Every lesson is designed individually for each student to build vocabulary and confidence by focusing on real activities and events and drawing on many years' experience as a journalist and teaching.
Each activity aims to help students feel more confident using French with a practical focus to understand and communicate more effectively.
I coach students, adults and professionals. Lessons may focus on work, on a planned holiday trip, to prepare for an exam or simply to get regular practice speaking and communicating in French for the love of it.
Online tution (Important)
With the current health crisis all my classes are now online via skype (or Zoom) backed-up with emails, audio and video materials.
In more normal times I offered face-to-face tuition. I am based in Richmond in South London but could travel to a home or office in other areas.
I am available Monday to Saturday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
