About Arno
I’m a visual artist and writer with a deep commitment to sharing knowledge and supporting others on their creative paths. After earning an MSc in Creative Project Management and an MA in Photography from the Royal College of Art in London, I’ve worked across the cultural sector — from museums and galleries to festivals and publishing. Alongside my own artistic practice, I’ve always found joy and clarity in helping others shape theirs. Teaching is, for me, an act of care and curiosity. I enjoy listening to what moves someone, what they're struggling with, and where they want to go. Whether it’s photography, visual storytelling, or navigating the complexities of art school and project management, I bring a calm, structured presence and a real-world perspective to every lesson. I know what it’s like to build something from scratch, to doubt, to rework, and to persist. I want to support others through those moments — with attention, empathy, and tools that empower. Let’s make the work, and the journey, meaningful.

As a tutor, I offer a thoughtful, adaptable, and collaborative approach to learning. I believe that teaching is not about imposing knowledge, but about building a dialogue that brings out the student’s own visual language and critical voice. Whether you're looking to master your camera, prepare an art school application, or strengthen your creative practice, I tailor each session to your goals and rhythm. Subjects I Teach – Photography (analogue & digital): from basic handling to advanced shooting techniques, including street photography, portraiture, and documentary styles. – Film Photography & Darkroom: understanding light, film stocks, developing processes, and scanning. – Art Project Support & Portfolio Building: guidance in concept development, visual storytelling, sequencing, and final presentation. – Crits and Contemporary Art Discussion: for students or artists wanting to sharpen their ideas and references. – Creative Project & Exhibition Management: advice and insight drawn from real experience working with museums, galleries, and festivals. Lesson Structure Sessions typically last 1 hour, but I remain flexible depending on your needs. I mix theory, examples, and active exercises, and I’m happy to work in-person or online. Who It's For – Beginners to intermediate creatives of all ages – Students preparing for art school applications or interviews – Emerging photographers, artists or writers seeking structure and feedback – Anyone looking to explore or deepen their relationship with visual culture

I met Arno at the Royal College of Art where we were both doing our MA in Photography. Since day 1, he has been my go-to person to help me figure out what is going on with my film cameras. He is very knowledgable but also has the patience to figure things out when he doesn’t know the answer initially. Would definitely reccomend taking lessons with him!
I met Arno while we were both studying for a Masters of Photography at the Royal College of Art in London. Arno is a very accomplished photographer, not only technically but also with great insights into an expanded contemporary art practice.
