About Angus
I have an MA in French and German from the University of Glasgow. During my year abroad for university I spent a year teaching English in a German comprehensive school. There, I acted as a language assistant to the English teachers where I would take small groups or individuals away and do conversation classes or to work through the exercise books. I would also be involved with the many refugee children who were sent to the school and who spoke decent English but no German so part of my job was to help them in classes.
I have also been a tennis coach my whole life and used my language knowledge to travel to the Bahamas where I was a tennis instructor at the French-speaking holiday resort Club Med. I have also been a French language assistant at The Armidale School in Australia and St Thomas of Aquins in Edinburgh.

I put a lot of emphasis on the speaking aspect of the languages. Oral is the most important and most useful part of any language and while an accent isn't too vital, pronunciation is paramount so I try to get that across in lessons.
If you have a lesson with me I will try to do the lesson entirely in either French or German unless it completely breaks down as I believe the more you speak the language, the more you will remember. That being said I will also dedicate some of the lesson to reading and writing while also recommending which films to watch and books to read. I remember much of my culture classes from university and would love to pass on my cultural knowledge of these countries to you.
