About Daniel
I have been giving French/Spanish tuition on/off for 10 years now, ever since graduating from university. My core students are learning Spanish at academic level, from KS2-KS3 to BA/university level, and my focus is helping them to achieve the grades they want. I also teach adult learners who are seeking to learn Spanish to move to Spain, use the language for work or just learn for fun. Essentially, my student base caters to all- young and old, beginners and advanced, local and international. By trade, I am a freelance linguist using French and Spanish, which I studied as part of my BA Degree in Contemporary European Languages, for translating, interpreting, editing, proofreading and freelance writing among many purposes. I participated in the ERASMUS exchange programme as part of my Degree and lived for a year in Spain, giving me my first experience using the language on a daily basis. Beyond the realm of work, I enjoy putting my language skills to use as part of my passion for travel. French and Spanish are not only beautiful but extremely advantageous to know and are extremely important and widely-spoken languages figuring on the world map. The rewards for learning either are great indeed. I strive to help people do just that!

I am a tutor and freelance linguist with a BA in Contemporary European Studies, French and Spanish from the University of Southampton and a Career Affiliate with the Chartered Institute of Linguists London (CIOL). I offer Spanish (and French) tuition for students of all levels and ages and for any requirement, i.e. - Help and support with homework, coursework/exam preparation - Help and support for business, travel or relocation - Speaking/oral practice - Writing/reading comprehension My goal is first to find out where a student wants to go with their lesson and plan it accordingly around their individual needs and requirements. For each lesson I provide my own comprehensive learning resources and send them on via email to each student once the lesson has been completed for their future reference. It is always a welcoming opportunity to help anyone who shares my passion for Spanish. I aim to ensure that every student, regardless of their language level or individual goals, finishes each lesson having gained a greater grasp of the language. My mission is to show people that learning a language is a tremendously rewarding and fun experience.

Amazing teacher! Very patient and fun.
I first met Dan back in 2008 as one of my fellow Erasmus students and I was immediately blown away by his language skills: he can speak French and Spanish fluently (and English, obviously:)) and has a knack for picking up languages very quickly (even Dutch, my mother tongue, which is not easy at all to learn). I can definitely recommend him as a teacher!

I met Daniel when he was on an Erasmus program for a 1-year period while I was on a 3-month training course there. What truly surprised me was that he could speak French quite well! That's very surprising coming from a 18-20 English man, trust me.
All along my time there I got along with him, we exchanged in French Spanish and English. A very funny pleasant man with obvious great languages skills.
