I usually start lessons by repeating what we have already discussed with a short (and if possible) active activity. Next, I explain and demonstrate the topic you are having difficulty with. Then I do a similar exercise with the children and finally you kan try it for yourself. When we are done, I discuss with the student how it went and what could be handled better next time.
