About Rowan
Hi, I’m Rowan, a Year 12 student who recently completed my GCSEs and achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Geography. Although I am now studying History, Economics and Design & Technology at A level, I have a strong interest in Geography and really enjoyed studying the subject at GCSE.
I understand that Geography can sometimes involve a lot of information to remember, particularly when it comes to case studies and exam technique. I aim to make lessons relaxed, approachable and tailored to each student, helping them understand the content rather than simply memorising it.
I’m friendly, patient and happy to work at whatever pace suits the student, whether they need help understanding a particular topic, preparing for exams or aiming to improve their grades. I offer friendly and supportive online GCSE Geography lessons, aimed at helping students understand the subject clearly and feel more confident in their exams. Having achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Geography myself, I understand the challenges students can face and can explain topics in a simple and approachable way.
Lessons can be tailored to each student's needs, whether that's learning difficult topics, revising case studies, improving exam technique or working through practice questions. I focus on active learning rather than simply reading through notes, using questions, discussion and exam-style practice to help students understand and remember the content. I can tutor any of the exam boards!
Lessons are typically around 30–60 minutes, with the structure adapted depending on the student's goals and current level. I tutor GCSE students and younger as I can support students of different abilities, whether they are struggling with a particular topic or looking to push their grades further.
