About Jael

I am a Ph.D. student applicant at Columbia University who has taught Ancient Greek, Latin, and Spanish for the past 8 years in both public and private schools. I have a Master of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania concentrating on curriculum development and teaching.

About the lesson

Before unpacking any material, I determine my teaching methodology by first studying how each student learns and understands his/her own learning process. As an educator, I approach my curriculum through Backwards Design and emphasize the importance of metacognitive strategies to maximize efficient learning.

Former boarding school teacher and aspiring Ph.D. student with 8 years foreign language teaching experience.
