About Kathryn
As a Modern Languages major in college, I participated in two study abroad programs and graduated with a 4.0 in my major. This reflects a major effort on my part because languages did not come easy to me in the least! I am keenly aware of the nervousness involved in learning a new language as well as the most effective methods for doing so. My working career has involved a variety of positions utilizing exceptional writing and speaking abilities which make me uniquely equipped to teach those skills to a variety of learners. My TESOL certification ensures that I am familiar with the latest and best practices for instructing English language learners.

With a diverse working and educational background, I bring a variety of skills to the table as an ESL educator. As a journalist, I developed exceptional writing and time management skills. As a family violence Program Coordinator, I had up to 16 monthly speaking engagements. And perhaps most importantly, since I majored in foreign languages in college I can personally relate to someone learning a new language. English is my native language and I am passionate about communication.
