About Yvette
I bring more than six years of tutoring experience and an MSc in Actuarial Science to my role as a mathematics tutor. My expertise includes running problem-solving workshops where students build strategies for approaching unfamiliar questions. I have also coached participants in mathematical competitions, where clear reasoning and quick thinking are vital. My lessons emphasize critical thinking, logical deduction, and creative problem-solving. I find number theory and problem analysis to be particularly powerful tools for sharpening the mathematical mind. Many of my students are gifted learners who thrive on advanced challenges. Others are aspiring mathematicians looking to strengthen their foundations and gain confidence. I adapt my methods to meet each learner’s needs while encouraging independence and resilience. My teaching is highly interactive, with plenty of opportunities to test ideas and refine reasoning. I place value on the process, not just the solution. In mathematics, clarity comes from structure, and that is the foundation of my teaching. I guide students through algebra step by step, strengthening their ability to approach higher concepts. With this base, I introduce calculus, showing the meaning of differentiation and integration through problem-solving. Geometry is explained with proofs, encouraging logical and structured thinking.
