About Henry
I am an experienced flute tutor with 6 years of teaching high school, college students, and adults, having successfully taught over 300 students. My teaching style emphasizes patience, motivation, and personalized guidance to help each student achieve their goals. I combine technique, music theory, and performance practice to create lessons that are engaging and effective. Seeing my students perform confidently at school and college events is always a proud moment. My teaching approach for flute is clear, practical, and student-focused. I believe that strong communication and understanding the learner are the keys to successful flute training. At the beginning, I assess the student’s level, goals, and preferred learning style, and then plan lessons accordingly.
I explain flute basics such as breathing, posture, embouchure, finger technique, and tone quality in simple language. I encourage open communication so students can freely ask questions and share their challenges. This helps build confidence and steady improvement.
To make lessons meaningful, I use real-life musical examples and case studies from performances, recordings, and well-known compositions. Students learn how each technique is used in actual music, which improves understanding and motivation.
Along with flute training, I also teach music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, scale practice, sight reading, and basic improvisation. I guide students in effective practice routines and performance preparation. My goal is to help students develop strong technical skills and a deep understanding of music.
