About Matteo
I am a passionate and reliable ESL tutor with 11 years of teaching experience and a strong record of student success. I have taught between 150 and 200 students from different backgrounds, helping them improve their English skills for academic, professional, and daily use.
My teaching philosophy is based on personalised learning. I believe that understanding the learner is the first step to effective teaching. I take time to identify each student’s learning goals, strengths, and challenges before designing structured and flexible lesson plans.
My lessons focus on all core language skills—speaking, listening, reading, and writing—along with grammar and vocabulary development. I use practical exercises, real-life communication tasks, and guided practice to ensure students gain real confidence in using English.
One of my unique abilities is creating a friendly and stress-free learning environment. I encourage students to communicate openly and learn from mistakes without fear. I also provide regular feedback, motivation, and progress tracking.

My ESL teaching approach is centred on flexibility, empathy, compassion, communication, and collaboration to ensure students gain both language skills and confidence. I focus on practical English that students can use in real conversations, professional settings, and academic environments.
Flexibility allows me to customise lessons for daily communication, travel, workplace interaction, and exams. I balance grammar with speaking, listening, reading, and writing practice through structured yet engaging sessions. Empathy and compassion support learners who feel shy, anxious, or discouraged.

In addition to ESL, I provide instruction in pronunciation, interview communication, and presentation basics to strengthen real-world English use.
