About Xiaoyu
I am a 3rd year undergraduate doing Maths and statistics in UCL. I have 2 A*s in A level maths and A in Physics. I have previous teaching experience in China for students who are doing IELTS and middle school maths. From the feedback of my students, my way of teaching is fun and easy to understand as I always give examples relating to daily living. Now that I have a transition mentor in UCL for two years. During this time, I have helped a lot of freshers adjusting themselves to university life. From the feedback of my mentees, they enjoyed meeting with me a lot. During my time of tutoring on this site, I have helped several people with their work. No matter how old they are, I can always adjust my way to suit the person that I am tutoring. She was not like any tutor as I know because of her unique style in class.
To be honest, the speaking and writing parts in IELTS were my nightmare. Before her I had registered three training classes and had found two tutors to help me, however, I still got the same three test results in IELTS exams. She just showed up at the time I was about to give up. I just told myself 'maybe I just should try one more time'. So I chose her as my totor.
Her class was full of usefull material that helped me greatly. We had conversation with certain topic or just chatting, then she gave her feedback to me, pointing out the mistake, showing where can be improved, making the example herself, to let me understand where the problem is. And finally I got the result I want in IELTS.
