About Callum

I am a First-Class UCL Laws graduate who helps students develop clarity and precision in legal analysis and academic writing.

At university, I achieved the highest grade in Public Law, received multiple academic awards, and attained a high distinction in the Legal Practice Course with MA. My career began in City corporate law before I moved to the Government Legal Department. I am currently on a career break working as a freelance writer.

I am studying for a Creative Writing MA at Birkbeck University and my writing has been featured in multiple publications, including the Times. I use my legal and writing experience to help students deploy creative analysis, improve structure, and develop sophisticated arguments to enhance their academic work.

I am state-educated and the first in my family to go to university, and am passionate about creating a supportive path to academic excellence.

About the lesson

My sessions are personalised to students’ needs, which may include building confidence in demanding academic environments, navigating exam pressure, or mastering complex subject matter.

Generally, sessions are structured around effective study and writing habits, with a focus on improving legal analysis and written expression through targeted feedback on essays and problem questions.

I also care about the student experience and am alive to the importance of maintaining wellbeing in elite academic settings, so I work to help my students build a mindset for sustained performance, allowing them to unlock their true potential.
