About Angus
From a young age, I’ve had a deep interest in Maths and Science, but I’ll admit, it didn’t always come easily to me. It was through the guidance of an inspiring teacher that I discovered how crucial a strong foundation in the basics is for mastering even the most challenging topics. I’ve also learnt that every student has their own way of understanding concepts, and it’s my job to find the method that clicks for them. This approach helped me achieve A* and A’s in my A-Levels and ultimately graduate with a First in Natural Sciences. This experience has fuelled my passion to pass on the problem-solving mindset and the strategies that helped me!

I take a personalised approach to tutoring, tailoring each lesson to the unique needs of the student. By focusing on the fundamentals of Maths and Science, I ensure that students build a strong foundation before moving on to more complex concepts. This step-by-step approach helps them gain confidence and understanding, making the progression into harder topics much smoother. In addition to subject knowledge, I also emphasise exam technique. Knowing how to approach questions and effectively solve problems is just as important as mastering the content itself. My lessons teach the "winning formula" for problem-solving, equipping students with the tools they need to succeed in their exams. With over five years of tutoring experience, I’ve worked with students from Key Stage 2 all the way through to A-Level in subjects like Maths, Physics, and Biology. I’ve found that one hour is the ideal length for a focused, productive lesson, and I always assign homework to consolidate what we’ve worked on during our time together. My lessons are designed for students at all levels, from those just starting to build their confidence in the subjects, to those aiming to excel in their GCSEs or A-Levels.
