My First-Class History degree from the University of Cambridge (and top grades at GCSE and A-Level) is testament to my keen interest in history and dedication to learning.
I want to nurture this interest in my students, and through this to help them to achieve their academic goals. I recognise that every student learns differently, and my lessons reflect this. We will work together to achieve your goals, but also to develop an enduring sense of the richness and importance of the past. I want my students to learn to write fantastic essays, and to thrive in the exam-hall, but also to cultivate critical thinking skills and intellectual curiosity that will enrich the rest of their lives.
My history lessons are tailored to each student, and their goals. They will invariably encourage you to think independently, and to articulate your learning with precision.
I am particularly happy to advise on Oxbridge applications, offer mock interviews and interview skills practice.

Perfect! Amy taught my daughter in year 10 for her GCSE history course. I was very impressed by her lesson - she is highly knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and patient. Her teaching style is interactive, and she was excellent at carrying out the brief I gave her (help with analysing sources in a GCSE context). She is very organised and keeps lessons focused. I have had no hesitation in signing my daughter up for a series of further lessons in the run-up to her exam.

Amy tutored me in Latin from year 9 to year 11 for my gcse exams, and throughout the process she was consistent and supportive, focusing lessons on teaching methods that worked best to support my specific needs. She is an amazing and dedicated tutor who pushed me to achieve excellence in my exams and I am incredibly grateful for all the hard work she put in to tutor me!
Over the past few months, Amy provided one on one Latin lessons. These were high quality and filled with tons of useful knowledge that really helped me to grow in the language.
