My teaching method for the Cambridge Exam (CAE) is based on helping students improve their writing, teaching them what each type of writing requires (essay, letter/email, report, proposal, review), by making them practise on different topics, recording the mistakes and improving content, communicative achievement, organisation, and language.
We will familiarise with a wide range of synonyms, learning about the differences, similarities, and the right context in which is most appropriate to use each of them - this will contribute to enrich the vocabulary.
We will focus on learning chunks of language, such as collocations, phrasal verbs, and idiomatic expressions.
We will carry out listening tasks, in order to assess the level of listening comprehension.
Finally, we will do one-to-one conversation in order to enhance the speaking ability.
Homework and practice are crucial!
