About Eve
I consider myself to be hard-working, but I also love to have fun! I want my lessons to reflect these priorities and I want to build a meaningful bond with all of my students. I believe that you learn best around people whom you feel comfortable around!
I hope that my qualifications will enable you to feel confident in my abilities in English, but I want to assure you that it hasn't always come naturally for me either! Until you find your feet with English, it can be a tricky subject! At one stage, I was just trying to get my GCSE so that I could drop it. Then, I got a new English teacher and everything changed. I got an A* in English Language and an A in English Literature at GCSE and went on to do A-Level, in which I achieved an A, all whilst balancing my role as editor of the school magazine and deputy head girl. After that, I went to the University of Sheffield and achieved a first class degree and a place at the University of Oxford.
I promise that I know how frustrating studying can be, but I want to help it to click into place for you, just as it did for me. We'll work it out together!

If you have personal assignments or homeworks that you are struggling with, you can send them to me ahead of time and we will go over them together. Alternatively, if there are broader topics that you know that you are struggling with, I will prepare resources that we can go over together to help to build your confidence. The content of the lesson will depend on your age and stage. I am most confident teaching 10-18 year olds who are struggling with English, but I am also open to younger students who are comfortable learning online.
A lesson will typically be 45 minutes, but this can change depending on your preference.
I have a first class degree in English Literature from the University of Sheffield and I am currently studying for an MSt in English 650-1550 at the University of Oxford.
