About Tasha
I am a dedicated and passionate individual with a strong academic background and a deep love for education. Holding a degree in English and Media from Goldsmiths University, I have honed my knowledge and expertise in language and communication.
I am committed to making a positive impact on the educational journey of my students and helping them reach their full potential.
I am motivated to teach because the impact of the COVID pandemic has left many students lagging behind in their studies. With reduced time in school and limited one-on-one interaction with teachers, these students risk being overlooked. I believe it's crucial to provide dedicated support during these foundational stages of learning English to instill a lifelong love for education and the ability to express oneself effectively through language. I see teaching as a means to bridge this gap, offering personalised guidance and fostering a nurturing learning environment that empowers students to thrive academically and develop a profound appreciation for the power of language.

My tutoring methods will include a combination of interactive lessons, in-depth analysis of literary texts, practical writing exercises, and personalised feedback sessions. I believe in fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment where students can actively participate in discussions, develop critical thinking skills, and build a strong foundation in English.
In each one-hour tutoring session, the structure will be as follows:
1. First 15 Minutes: We'll kick off with engaging warm-up exercises aimed at boosting students' confidence and enthusiasm. This will involve revisiting and reinforcing the material covered in our previous session to ensure retention.
2. Main Task (Next 30 Minutes): The core of the lesson will be dedicated to addressing the specific challenges that the student is currently facing. Whether it's connotation-denotation, comprehension, spelling and grammar, or developing a thesis, this is where we'll delve deep into these areas, providing guidance and practice.
3. Final 15 Minutes: We'll wrap up the session with a cool-down period. This time allows us to revisit any remaining uncertainties or questions the student may have, ensuring that they leave the session with clarity and a solid understanding of the material.
This structured approach ensures that each lesson is both engaging and focused, tailored to the student's individual needs and designed to facilitate effective learning and growth.
I have prior experience tutoring students who completed their examinations and received their results in August. These students achieved impressive grades, ranging from 6 to 9.
My lessons primarily are catered for students between Year 9 - Year 11 who are preparing for their GCSEs, but am also more than capable of creating lesson plans for younger students.
