Hi, I’m a friendly and approachable Chemistry tutor with a First-Class Honours degree in Chemistry and over four years of experience working in a professional laboratory setting. I also recently completed a degree apprenticeship with Distinction, giving me both academic knowledge and real-world experience. My approach to tutoring GCSE Chemistry is student-focused, exam-smart, and confidence-building. I begin by understanding each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and goals — whether they’re aiming for a Grade 4 pass or pushing for a Grade 9. I break down complex topics like bonding, equations, and calculations into simple, manageable chunks using analogies, diagrams, and everyday examples. Each session is interactive, using active recall, practice questions, and guided exam-style problems to check understanding throughout. I structure lessons around the AQA or OCR specification (whichever the student follows), and include past paper practice regularly to build exam technique. I also create revision resources such as summary sheets and flashcards tailored to each topic. Above all, I make sure students feel supported, ask questions comfortably, and leave each session with a clear sense of progress and confidence in their chemistry skills.
