About Parizad
I am in my final year of my Bachelor's at The University of Western Australia, doing a double major in Marine Science and Environmental Management. I have achieved a GPA of 6.8/7, with a weighted average of 83%. I am also an international student from Singapore, who graduated in 2018 with 40 points in the IB curriculum. I studied higher-level biology, chemistry and geography and graduated with a 6 for HL Biology (1% from 7).
I am very passionate about learning, especially ecology/environment-related topics, and I hope to inspire that same love for learning in my students!

I have been tutoring IB Biology since 2020. I have tutored two SL Biology students since 2020 who both received a 3 for their prelims and with my guidance, improved to a 5 for their final grades. I am familiar with tutoring online (using my iPad, where I can draw diagrams and explain concepts easily).
I believe a strong foundation is necessary to do well in Biology and I am confident in helping students to build that foundation. Lessons are usually structured in a topical way and the student is provided with homework on that particular topic discussed to practice. I am a patient, effective and dedicated tutor who takes a step-by-step approach and tailors each lesson to the student's specific needs. I share tips with my students on how to study effectively and how to answer questions according to IB’s demands.
Lessons are usually 1x a week, 1hr for SL and 1.5hrs for HL (flexible). Lesson frequencies can increase nearer to tests/exams.

Parizad was an amazing tutor for IB Biology! I was really struggling with biology at a standard level, and was getting very low grades which is why I knew I needed a tutor, which I have never had before. I found that Parizad was very friendly and easy to talk to - which is important for asking questions. Since she had also taken Biology, it was good to connect with someone about the course too as she was very understanding. Her teaching style is very visual which is really useful for me since I learn a lot better when I can see images or diagrams as opposed to large chunks of text. She was also very patient as it took me a while to fully grasp some of the harder content. Overall, Parizad was an excellent tutor and I would definitely recommend her to others as I had a great experience and my biology grades greatly improved.
