About Grace

I am a final year Law student at the London School of Economics averaging 2:1's whilst balancing multiple extracurricular activities.

I have gained practical insight through a Government Legal Department internship and shadowed in employment law, family law, immigration law tribunals and immigration law clinics.

I was awarded the Enfield High Achievers Award at 16, represented my peers in a debate at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, and delivered my first moot before Judge Margaret Obi, further developing my advocacy skills.

Alongside my studies, I have co-mentored 15 students and served as a student ambassador, leading campus tours and outreach for students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds where I was awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award (2026). I would also love to tutor LNAT lessons and aid students that way as I have had 2 years of mentoring students, supporting with applications and answering questions for two years as a Sutton Trust Pathways to Law Mentor during my first 2 years at LSE. The students were supported from year 12 to year 13 where they ended the tenure listening to a speech I was invited to give that enabled the students to gracefully close that chapter of their lives. Pouring into those younger than me has always been a passion of mine that I have invested in and learned to grow in this area.

I have multiple years of tutoring experience, both within a tutoring centre and independently. While working at TOP LEARNING (Sept 2022 – March 2023), I supported students from Year 1 to Year 11 through a mix of group and one-to-one sessions, tailoring my approach to different learning styles and confidence levels. I particularly enjoyed helping students build self-belief alongside academic skills, especially in GCSE English, as well as Maths and English at primary level.
I have tutored independently on an ad hoc basis, including voluntary A-Level English Literature support.

I went from a D to an A* in English Literature and failing history exams to an A in History, I am willing to support any student in a similar position and inspire them to turn their weakness into strengths.

I offer 2 hour lessons minimum a week, for both GCSE (year 7-year 11) to A-Level. Initial consultation: I allow the student to tell me their struggle areas, encourage the student to share feedback from school and past modules, allow them to explain what they think the problem. Initial exercise involves practising an answer first without initial support from me to see exactly where they are within the grade boundaries and how I can help them improve. Experimenting with different methods that allow students to do independent study; for example teaching my students the blurting method, how to make flashcards, look, cover, write check, the pomodoro technique, the Feynman technique, essay planning skills, past papers, exam questions and more so that even outside lessons they can independently study. Setting homework frequently and checking it to ensure the student is reaching targets. Setting mini goals and targets throughout the year so the student themselves can be motivated by their own progress. With students who struggle to remain attentive for longer periods of time, taking frequent breaks to maximise their concentration typically helps. Writing an example answer or sharing example answers that received high grades and ensuring my students can adapt to/ and/ or follow my structure to get similar grades. Allowing students who are visual learners to watch videos; particularly for English literature, watching videos from academics such as Mr Salles has supported my students in the past. When students are struggling; I take more time to get to know them as a person by doing goal setting exercises and allowing them to have a personal 'why' and reason as to why they are studying to ensure they remain motivated and I also potentially change my methods of studying with them to support them.
Where students are facing challenges beyond my control; consulting their parents to ensure they are fully making the most of their lessons is something I consider as a last resort.
