About Claude Christelle
I am a French lecturer, researcher, and language trainer with an academic background in Modern European Languages and African–European Cultural Relations. I hold a Master’s degree and I am currently pursuing a PhD in French literature, with a focus on African women’s voices and identity reconstruction through literature. My academic journey has shaped the way I approach language: as a tool for expression, empowerment, and connection.
I have experience teaching French at university level as well as online, working with adult learners from diverse backgrounds. My teaching philosophy is learner-centred and confidence-based. I design structured yet flexible lessons that prioritise real communication, clarity, and emotional safety. I strongly believe that students learn best when they feel respected, supported, and free to make mistakes.
Having learned multiple languages myself, including Spanish, I understand firsthand the challenges, frustrations, and insecurities that come with language learning. This experience allows me to teach with empathy, patience, and realism, meeting learners where they are and helping them progress at their own pace.
Fun facts Outside the classroom : I’m a language lover who enjoys exploring cultures through literature and storytelling. I’m also a content creator, a cat person, and someone who believes that learning should never feel intimidating whether it’s in academia or in everyday life.

How my lessons are conducted :
My French lessons are interactive, structured, and learner-centred. Each lesson is adapted to the student’s level, goals, and learning pace. We focus on real communication, especially speaking and comprehension, while grammar is explained clearly and applied immediately in context.
I create a safe and supportive learning space where mistakes are part of the process. Lessons combine guided conversation, practical exercises, and personalised feedback to help students gain confidence and progress naturally.

Perfect! I was struggling with grammar French, and had lost interest in French because of how hard it was. She helped me to regain passion for the language. Every lessons so far, have been filled with exciting new themes and topics. I absolutely recommend her as she has never failed to deliver her classes successfully. The one thing I'd suggest is to try and find a site that incorporates the PowerPoint presentation so that the learner can follow as she teaches.

Using PowerPoints, each ones containing different lessons, makes learning easier. What I would recommend, is for her to try and find a better online site where she can do lessons. As whatsapp video calling kept cutting between my lessons and that isn't efficient, especially when we are doing a complexed activity. Other than that, I would recommend her as a French tutor.Good! A willingness to upgrade the methodology being used and it is improving all the time. I would like a better picture when doing the lesson as she is using her phone and I do like to see the whole of the persons face when doing a lesson. Use of her computer to do the lesson would make it easier for me as I do want to see her full facial features when she is talking.

Christelle, is excellent -- very patient and provides clear guidance and lessons, helping me to fill in the gaps in my french and connect to my prior knowledge in spanish/english effectively. So far, I am really enjoying the class and I appreciate her expertise and teaching style.
Christelle is passionate about teaching. She was my French tutor and it was quite a pleasant experience. She created a program for my lessons and in each lessons I grasped a deeper understanding of the language. She also gave me a lot of tips for me to improve my French and she always did extra work to ensure that I did well. I recommend her because she went the extra mile to ensure that I excelled in my studies.
