About Katelyn

I am a 6-year CFII with experience teaching dozens of students who have all gone on to be successful airline or corporate pilots. I have a 100% pass rate for my students taking checkrides. I have CFI, CFII, and airline pilot experience as well as a Bachelor's degree in Aviation. I have a passion for teaching so let me help you succeed!

About the lesson

A typical lesson will start with a prebrief to discuss any specific questions you might have on the subject and determine your learning style. We will customize the lesson to your specific learning needs to ensure the most efficient use of our time together.
I like using little memory items to help with harder subjects (ones you might have heard and others I've made up along the way), colorful markers on white boards with badly drawn pictures have also had great success with previous students.
I have A&P experience so my students have always had exceptional systems knowledge. Systems is a subject that the FAA acknowledges is a very weak area for most students, but not mine.
I can instruct private, instrument, commercial single engine, CFI and CFII students. I specialize in the C172 and C150 but have experience in Archers and Warriors as well.

I had the opportunity to train with Katelyn as my flight instructor, and she was by far the best instructor I ever had throughout my flight training. Having trained with multiple instructors, her professionalism, teaching ability, and depth of knowledge truly stood out.

As an A&P, her systems knowledge is exceptional, and she has a methodical, detail-oriented approach to instruction that made complex concepts easy to understand and apply. She is also personable, patient, and genuinely enjoyable to work with, which created an excellent learning environment. I would highly recommend Katelyn to anyone seeking high-quality flight instruction or tutoring.
