About Everly
I am a passionate piano instructor with 14 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Collaborative Piano. My teaching philosophy centres on interactive learning, helping students connect with music in a meaningful and intentional way. I believe that building technical skill and expressive ability should go hand in hand.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and learning style, whether they are a beginner or preparing for advanced performance. I integrate music theory, historical context, and technique alongside creative exploration to ensure balanced musical development. Students engage with sight-reading, improvisation, and composition to strengthen both confidence and versatility.
I encourage hands-on learning through practical exercises, listening activities, and guided interpretation, making every session dynamic and engaging. My approach supports steady progress while fostering a deep appreciation for the music they play. I enjoy guiding students through repertoire across classical, jazz, and contemporary styles, helping them find their unique voice.

In my piano lessons, I focus on helping students develop both technical skill and musical expression. I combine classical training with practical approaches to jazz, pop, and contemporary styles, ensuring lessons are engaging and versatile. Students learn piano technique, sight-reading, and finger control while exploring rhythm, dynamics, and phrasing.
I integrate music theory into every lesson, helping students understand scales, chords, and harmony, which strengthens both performance and creativity. Exam preparation for ABRSM, Rockschool, and A-Level music is carefully planned, combining structured practice with targeted guidance. I also introduce music history, so students connect with the pieces they play and understand different styles and periods.
Creative skills like composition and improvisation are encouraged, allowing students to develop their own musical ideas. I support those who enjoy experimenting with jazz harmonies or pop arrangements, helping them excel in their chosen style. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, pace, and interests.
I use interactive exercises, listening activities, and practical examples to make learning dynamic and fun. Students build confidence in solo and ensemble performance.
