My Approach as a Tutor
Teaching Methods and Techniques:
My teaching strategy begins with direct instruction to ensure foundational proficiency. This method involves structured teaching, focusing on clear explanations and guided practice. Once students achieve the necessary proficiency, I transition to inquiry-based instruction, which encourages exploration and critical thinking through case studies and real-world scenarios.
A Typical Lesson Plan:
Direct Instruction: Introduce and explain new concepts and vocabulary.
Example Problems: Work through example problems to demonstrate application.
One-on-One Practice: Assist students with individual problems to address specific challenges.
Inquiry Case Studies: Engage students in exploring scenarios, applying their knowledge in a hands-on, inquiry-based format.
What Sets Me Apart:
Dual Teaching Approach: Combining structured teaching with exploratory learning ensures a deep understanding and retention of material.
Personalized Attention: Tailoring lessons to individual student needs and pacing.
Experience: A Mechanical Engineering degree and 10 years of teaching experience specializing in IB and AP curricula.
Who the Lessons Are For:
Degree and Level: Middle school to high school students, up to freshman year in college.
Subjects: All levels of Mathematics and Physics up to freshman-year college courses.
