About Tessa
I’m a guitar tutor with over 12 years of teaching experience and a degree in music. I specialize in Electric, Acoustic, Classical, Bass, and Jazz guitar, helping students explore the unique sounds of each style. My lessons focus on improvisation, chord voicings, theory application, and songwriting to develop well-rounded musicians. I take a student-centered approach, tailoring lessons to fit the goals and needs of both youth and adult learners. Whether you’re just starting out or playing at an advanced level, I’ve helped students build confidence and skill. I also work with those performing professionally, supporting their growth on stage and in the studio. My teaching style is flexible and supportive, designed to inspire creativity and musical growth. I believe learning guitar should be fun and rewarding, so I focus on making each lesson engaging and productive. Together, we’ll unlock your potential and develop your unique musical voice. My teaching approach focuses on helping students build strong guitar skills through a mix of practice, creativity, and fun. I emphasize rhythm practice and groove development because these are the heart of playing music that feels alive and natural. We work on tempo control to make sure you can keep steady time and play confidently with others.
I cover a variety of styles, including blues, funk, and folk, so you can explore different sounds and techniques. This helps you become a versatile player who can adapt to many musical settings. I also support those who enjoy playing around the campfire or leading worship, guiding them to play songs that connect with people and create a special atmosphere.
My lessons are practical and focused on what matters most to you. We break down songs and exercises step-by-step, making sure each part is clear and manageable. I encourage students to develop their own style while mastering essential guitar skills. By combining technique with musical feel, I help students become confident players ready to perform in any situation.
