About Saksham

Hello, my name is Saksham Mahajan, and I am a PhD researcher at University College London specialising in quantum physics, spin dynamics, and advanced mathematics. With several years of research and teaching experience, I understand how challenging scientific and mathematical concepts can feel — and I take pride in making them clear, structured, and approachable. I have taught and mentored students at undergraduate, postgraduate, and advanced high-school levels, helping them not only improve their grades but also gain real confidence in tackling difficult problems. My professional training in physics and coding (Python, Matlab) allows me to connect theory with real-world applications, giving students a deeper appreciation of the subject. Students describe me as patient, detail-oriented, and encouraging. I believe every learner has the potential to excel with the right guidance, and my goal is to provide that guidance in a way that matches each student’s pace and learning style. Whether you are preparing for exams, working on university-level coursework, or simply curious about advanced topics in physics and computing, I am here to help. With my combination of PhD-level expertise, teaching experience, and a supportive approach, you can be assured of a professional and effective learning experience.

Techniques and Teaching Methodology I focus on building a strong conceptual foundation first and then move towards problem-solving. My method is interactive: I encourage students to ask questions, break down complex topics into manageable steps, and use real-world or research-based examples to make abstract concepts more intuitive. For physics and mathematics, I blend theory with applications so students can see how principles connect to actual problems. Typical Lesson Structure and Length A standard lesson lasts 45–60 minutes. Sessions usually begin with a quick recap of the previous class, followed by tackling new material or problem sets. Towards the end, I guide the student through practice questions to consolidate learning and identify areas needing reinforcement. For exam preparation, I offer more intensive, focused sessions. Qualifications and Experience I am a PhD student at University College London (London Centre for Nanotechnology), specialising in quantum spin dynamics and quantum sensing. I have several years of research and teaching experience, and my work has been published in peer-reviewed journals. I am proficient in physics, quantum mechanics, advanced mathematics, and coding (Python, Matlab). This combination of theoretical expertise and practical experience enables me to guide students with both clarity and depth. Who the Lessons Are For Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students: Physics, mathematics, quantum computing, or those looking for support with research projects. High-School Students (A-levels / IB / Advanced Curricula): Physics and mathematics, especially for students aiming for top universities. Early Career Researchers / Professionals: Those interested in learning coding for scientific applications, quantum computing basics, or specialised training in experimental techniques.
