About Ivy
I am a Chemistry tutor with over 4 years of experience and hold an MPhil in Chemistry. My teaching goes beyond traditional chemistry—I take a holistic and interdisciplinary approach that connects chemistry with art and cultural heritage preservation. I focus on topics like pigment analysis, material degradation, and conservation treatments. This allows students to see chemistry’s role in protecting priceless artworks. I use historical art pieces as examples, combined with chemical analysis techniques, to make lessons engaging and meaningful. Ethical considerations in restoration are also an important part of my teaching. I have worked with art history students, conservationists, and anyone curious about the science behind preserving human creativity. My goal is to help students appreciate how chemistry supports the care and understanding of our shared cultural legacy. I encourage curiosity and critical thinking, guiding students to explore both the science and the stories behind art conservation. Together, we uncover how chemical processes affect materials over time and how treatments can protect them. Teaching this interdisciplinary subject is a rewarding experience for me. My teaching approach in Chemistry focuses on clear understanding and practical application. I cover key topics such as acid-base chemistry, pH calculations, titration, and buffer solutions. I believe learning is strongest when theory meets real-world problems. That’s why I emphasize problem-solving in every lesson.
I guide students step by step through chemical equilibrium and related calculations. This helps build their confidence and skills in handling complex questions. With experience as a researcher and Olympiad contestant, I bring a deep understanding of challenging concepts. I use examples and exercises that prepare students for exams and contests.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace and needs. I focus on making sure they truly grasp the core ideas, not just memorize formulas. Support and encouragement are always part of the process. Together, we work toward mastering Chemistry with confidence and ease. This method helps students excel in their studies and beyond.
